Maintain intimacy with God

하느님과 긴밀한 관계를 유지하자. (하느님과 친밀함 안에 머무르자.)

우리가 자신의 내면에 집중하여 기도하거나 묵상할 때 하느님과 친교를 직접적으로 이룰 수 있습니다. 그러나 우리 내면에서 벗어나 밖으로 집중하기를 원하시는 하느님의 뜻을 행할 때 우리는 간접적으로 이룰 수 있습니다. (....) 다른 사람들과 함께 있을 때, 공부나 일 등 다양한 업무에 몰두할 때 많은 경우 하느님과 이루는 내적 친밀감은 방해를 받습니다. 그러면 우리는 하느님의 현존이 우리에게 주는 평화와 온화함을 느끼지 못합니다. (....) 이 말씀은 예수님의 다른 모든 말씀처럼 우리가 이런저런 의미 중에 어느 한 의미에 지나치게 쏠리지 말고 모든 것에 균형을 잡아야 한다고 청하십니다. 어떤 것에라도 지나침은 주님께서 우리 안에 당신 자신을 드러내시지 못하게 합니다. 많이 사랑하고 그래서 주님의 말씀을 실천하는 사람은 하느님께서 어디에 계시는지 아는 사람입니다.
 
"We do this directly when we pray or meditate on our own. We do it indirectly when we do the will of God that requires us to concentrate all our attention outside of ourselves, (…) Many times, being with others and immersed in various tasks, such as study or work, our intimacy with God is disturbed and we do not feel his peace and the sweetness that the presence of God brings us.(…) This Word, like all the words of Jesus, asks us to be balanced and not to exaggerate in one sense or the other. Any excess prevents Jesus from manifesting himself in us. The person who loves well and therefore puts his Word into practice is the one who knows where God is."
