Give priority to prayer
기도를 우선시하자. (기도를 특별한 자리에 두자)
기도는 모든 사람이 참된 존재가 되는 데 없어서는 안 될 가장 본질적인 것입니다……. 그래서 예수님은 당시 전 생애를 통해 그리고 가르침을 통해 우리에게 기도하라고 하십니다. 그러므로 예수님의 이 말씀들을 우리의 것이 되게 하려면 우리가 참으로 허약하다는 것을 자각하면서 동시에 더할 나위 없이 큰 신뢰심을 지니고 예수님이 하신 것처럼 하느님 아버지께 우리의 정신과 마음을 집중해야 합니다. 우리는 개인적으로 기도함은 물론이고 우리 가운데 예수님을 모시고 함께 기도함으로써 그렇게 해야 합니다.
“The whole of Jesus’ life and teaching invites us to pray, since prayer is something indispensable, essential to the very being of every man and woman... Therefore, in order to make these words of Jesus our own, we have to turn to the Father, as he did, aware of our fragility, but at the same time filled with utmost trust. We should do so by praying individually, as well as together, with Jesus among us.”
