희망을 선포하는 사람들
희망을 품고 사는 사람이란 하느님께서 우리의 성화를 완성해주시리라는 것을 믿는 사람들을 말합니다. 이는 복음을 살고 이를 실천하는 것이 가능하다는 것을 믿는 것이고 선이 악보다 강하며 따뜻한 마음에서 우러나 한 행동은 반드시 열매를 맺는다는 것을 믿는 것입니다. 그리고 하느님께서 준비하여 주시는 미래는 지금보다 훨씬 더 아름답다는 것을 믿는 것을 의미합니다. 언제나 한계가 있고 제한적인 우리의 계획을 하느님께서 당신 사랑 안에 감추어두신 거대한 계획 앞에 내려놓을 줄 아는 사람임을 의미합니다.
"Being people of hope means believing that God will bring to completion the work of our sanctification. It means believing that it is possible to live the Gospel, that good is stronger than evil and that no act of kindness will be without fruit. It means being convinced that the future prepared by God will be more beautiful than now. It means knowing how to subordinate our plans, which are always so limited, to the immense plans that God keeps hidden in his love".
