교황성하께서 거행하신 아침미사 강론 일부 내용입니다. 비공식 번역.
"Paul
is a nuisance: he is a man who, with his preaching, his work, his attitude
irritates others, because testifying to Jesus Christ and the proclamation of
Jesus Christ makes us uncomfortable, it threatens our comfort zones – even
Christian comfort zones, right? It irritates us. The Lord always wants us to
move forward, forward, forward ... not to take refuge in a quiet life or in cozy
structures, no?... And Paul, in preaching of the Lord, was a nuisance. But he
had deep within him that most Christian of attitudes: Apostolic zeal. He had its
apostolic zeal. He was not a man of compromise. No! The truth: forward! The
proclamation of Jesus Christ, forward! ".
바오로는 성가신 존재였습니다. 그는 설교와 노동과
태도가 다른 이들을 불편하게 하는 사람이었습니다. 예수 그리스도를 증거하고 예수 그리스도를 선포하는 것은 우리를 불편하게 하고 우리의 안주
영역을 위협하기 때문입니다. 심지어 그리스도교인들의 안주 영역마저 위협하지요. 그렇지 않습니까? 우리를 성가시게 합니다. 주님께서는
조용한 삶이나 아늑한 구조 속으로 도피하지 않고 우리가 앞으로 앞으로 앞으로 나아가길 언제나 원하십니다. 그렇지 않나요? 그리고 주님에 대해
설교하는 바오로 사도는 성가신 존재였습니다. 그러나 그는 가장 그리스도인다운 태도를 깊숙이 그 자신 안에 지니고 있었습니다. 바로 사도적
열정입니다. 그는 사도적 열정을 지니고 있었습니다. 그는 타협하는 사람이 아니었죠. 절대 아니었습니다! 진리로써 전진! 예수 그리스도를
선포하면서 전진!
"And
Apostolic zeal is not an enthusiasm for power, for possession. It is something
that comes from within, that the Lord wants from us: Christian with Apostolic
Zeal. And where does this Apostolic Zeal come from? It comes from knowing Jesus
Christ. Paul found Jesus Christ, he encountered Jesus Christ, but not with an
intellectual, scientific knowledge – which is important, because it helps us -
but with that first knowledge, that of the heart, of a personal encounter.
"
그리고 사도적 열정은 권력과
소유에 대한 열정이 아닙니다. 그것은 속으로부터 오는 무엇, 주님께서 우리로부터 원하시는 무엇입니다. 사도적 열정을 지닌 그리스도인.
사도적 열정은 어디에서 옵니까? 그것은 예수 그리스도를 앎으로부터 옵니다. 바오로 사도는 예수 그리스도를 발견했고 예수 그리스도를
만났습니다. 그러나 그것은 지성이나 과학적 지식 -- 이러한 지식이 우리에게 도움이 되기 때문에 중요한 것이기는 하지만 -- 이 아니라 으뜸
지식인 마음의 지식, 인격적 만남이었습니다.
"There are backseat Christians,
right? Those who are well mannered, who do everything well, but are unable to
bring people to the Church through proclamation and Apostolic zeal. Today we can
ask the Holy Spirit to give us all this Apostolic fervor and to give us the
grace to be annoying when thin are too quiet in the Church the grace to go out
to the outskirts of life. The Church has so much need of this! Not only in
distant lands, in the young churches, among people who do not know Jesus Christ,
but here in the cities, in our cities, they need this proclamation of Jesus
Christ. So let us ask the Holy Spirit for this grace of Apostolic zeal, let’s be
Christians with apostolic zeal. And if we annoy people, blessed be the Lord.
onwards, as the Lord says to Paul, ‘take courage!' "
뒷좌석 그리스도인들이 있습니다, 그렇지요? 그들은 예의 바르고,
범사에 일처리를 잘 하지만, 선포와 사도적 열정을 통해서 사람들을 교회로 데려 오지는 못합니다. 오늘 우리는 성령께 이러한 사도적 열정,
교회가 너무도 조용할 때 성가시게 할 수 있는 은총, 삶의 주변부로 나아갈 수 있는 은총을 주시기를 청할 수 있습니다. 교회는 이것이 너무도
필요합니다! 멀리 떨어진 지역, 젊은 교회들, 예수 그리스도를 잘 모르는 사람들이 있는 곳 뿐만 아니라, 우리가 살고 있는 도시들에서도 예수
그리스도에 대한 이러한 선포가 필요합니다. 이제 성령께 이러한 사도적 열정의 은총을 청합시다. 사도적 열정을 지닌 그리스도인이 되도록
합시다. 그리고 사람들이 우리 때문에 화내는 경우,
주님을 찬양합시다. 앞으로 전진. 주님께서 바오로 사도에게 말씀하셨듯이 "용기를 내십시오!"
