다른 이들의 걱정을 대신 짊어지자. 
 
사랑하십시오! 이 한마디 말에 예수님께서 가르쳐주신 모든 것이 압축되어 있습니다. 우리의 사랑이 좀 더 순화되어야 합니다. 그러면 우리는 다른 사람들이 하는 말을 좀 더 잘 경청할 수 있고 우리 이웃의 걱정거리와 문제들을 우리의 것이 되게 하고 그들의 기쁨과 고통을 함께 나눌 수 있습니다. 그리고 우리를 여전히 갈라놓는 장벽을 무너뜨리고 남을 판단하고 비평하려는 성향을 극복할 수 있으며 자기도취에서 벗어나 가난한 이와 외로운 이들을 섬길 수 있습니다. 그리하여 어느 곳에 있든지 우리는 예수님께서 원하시는 일치를 이룩할 수 있습니다.

“To love! This is Jesus’ entire doctrine. We need to refine our love so that we are able to truly listen to others and identify with the problems and worries of our neighbours, share in their joys and sufferings, break down the barriers that still divide us, overcome the tendency to judge and criticize, come out of our self-absorption and put ourselves at the service of the needy and the lonely, and build everywhere the unity Jesus desired.”
