Love makes us free
사랑은 우리를 자유롭게 해준다. (사랑은 자유롭게 한다.)
말씀(로고스)은 사랑이십니다. 그러므로 하느님의 말씀을 삶의 현장에서 실천하면 우리는 순결하여지고 자유로워집니다…….
예수님께서 우리에게 실천하라고 명하신 유일한 사랑. 그래서 지복(至福)을 경험할 수 있게 해주는 사랑은 서로 간의 사랑입니다. 이는 예수님의 모범을 따라 우리도 다른 사람들을 위해 우리의 생명을 내어줄 태세를 완벽하게 갖춘 사랑입니다. 우리가 다른 사람과 떨어져 고립된 삶을 산다면 세상의 유혹을 오랫동안 버티기가 어렵습니다. 그러나 서로 간의 사랑을 산다면 우리의 순결함과 크리스천 삶의 다른 여러 가지 측면들을 보호해 줄 수 있는 건강한 환경이 조성되어 있음을 깨닫게 됩니다.
"Living the Word of God purifies us and sets us free because the Word is love…There is one type of love that Jesus commanded us to practice and that enables us to experience this beatitude - It is reciprocal love, which means being ready to give our life for others, following Jesus’ example. As isolated individuals we are unable to resist the world’s temptations for long, but by living in mutual love, we experience a healthy environment that can protect our purity and every other aspect of our Christian life."
