Avoid evil
악을 피하자
사랑하는 사람들은 단지 악을 피해 사는 소극적인 사람이 아닙니다. 사랑하는 사람은 다른 사람에게 자신을 열고 그들에게 유익한 것을 원하고 이를 행동으로 옮깁니다. 그들은 사랑하는 사람을 위해 목숨까지도 내어 줄 정도로 자신을 내어줍니다. 그러므로 사도 바오로는 우리가 이웃을 사랑할 때 우리는 특정한 하나의 계명을 준수하는 것뿐만이 아니라 모든 율법을 적극적으로 준수하는 것이라고 하셨습니다.
“Those who love do not merely avoid evil. Someone who loves is open to others, desires what is good for them, does what is good. They give of themselves even to the point of laying down their life for the person who is loved. Therefore, Paul writes that when we love our neighbour, we are not only observing one single commandment, we are actually fulfilling ‘the whole law."
